Thy Faithful Word

The stars shall dim their ancient light The mountains turn to dust The day shall yield to endless night And all things fade to dust

Man's works are written on the sand His breath is but a span His fairest deeds shall fade away As all the works of man

But Thou, O Lord, dost ever stand Though all the heavens flee Thy sovereign word shall never change Through all eternity

Thy Word is not as grass that fades Nor like the summer flower Through every age Thy Word remains And lives forevermore

Though earth and heaven pass away And time itself shall cease Thy faithfulness shall ever stand Thy glory evermore
