The Anchor We Hold

We start with the text, the historical ground The empty tomb where the answers are found Not a blind leap of faith in the dark of the night But a reasonable trust in the ultimate light Apologetics in motion, we define the terms The cosmological constant, what the science confirms From the first cause of life to the moral law within To the Savior who stepped in to conquer our sin You talk about truth like it's something we spin But objective reality is where we begin The logos made flesh, the transcendent design Where the justice of God and His mercy align

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life The anchor we hold in the midst of the strife From the depth of the Psalms to the cross on the hill We worship the Savior who's sovereign and still Jesus our Lord, the Alpha, the End Our righteous Creator, Redeemer, and Friend

Psalm nineteen declares how the heavens speak loud No speech or translation, yet piercing the clouds The heavens declare all the works of His hand So the skeptic is left with no place they can stand But more than the stars is the grace He bestowed When He carried the cross down the suffering road Substitutionary death, the propitiation complete Putting death and the grave underneath of His feet It's historically sound, the witnesses stood From the dust of Judea to the ultimate good So we bow at the throne of the King who was slain Who is risen in power and coming to reign

So let every mind and let every heart bow To the truth of the Savior, right here and right now Theologically firm, on the rock we will stand Soli Deo Gloria, held in His hand
