Awake in Mercy

Before the first light appeared You knew my name You held my broken heart And called me safe In every lonely valley You stayed the same So kind, so near So full of grace

And when my heart was far You ran to me You did not turn away You set me free With nail-scarred hands You lifted shame Now I can breathe And say Your name

Oh, Jesus, You are love Love poured out for me Oh, Jesus, You are love My heart bows at Your feet You gave me life, You gave me hope You took my sin and made me whole Oh, Jesus, You are love Forever love

At Calvary's hill You carried all The weight of my tomorrow And every fall The storm of wrath Broke on Your Son So I could stand forgiven And sing as one

Oh, Jesus, You are love Love poured out for me Oh, Jesus, You are love My heart bows at Your feet You gave me life, You gave me hope You took my sin and made me whole Oh, Jesus, You are love Forever love

The grave could not hold You The darkness had to flee The stone was rolled away And death lost its victory Now every chain is broken Now every fear must bow The Lamb who died for me Is risen here and now

Oh, Jesus, You are love Love poured out for me Oh, Jesus, You are love My heart bows at Your feet You gave me life, You gave me hope You took my sin and made me whole Oh, Jesus, You are love Forever love
